just a common breastfeeding injury

Around the halfway point of a feeding, I find myself with the thirst of a million thirsts (and no hands) so Matt fetches a drink and administers it. Usually with a straw.

Tonight he grabbed a mason jar of Cranberry juice. No straw. Our timing was off. And I swear we either cracked, chipped, or lost my front tooth. To be determined when I can feel my mouth again.

But can I just say that I'm delighted to be home, healthy, snuggling, laughing, playing dress-up, and flashing a (possibly toothless) grin?Because I am.

So. Delighted.

I've been having a pain radiating from a single point in my gums for the last couple of hours. Maybe it's a clairvoyant sympathetic pain.

Or a brain tumor.

Is that picture of Merritt at the top of the blog getting bigger or am I just imagining it?

From WebMD:
A question from a 15 year old to her mother. "Why bring kids into this world with so much stress, misery, and sadness--and then you need to work so hard to make money to support them"…the response: Because I wanted to share the turquoise blue of the Caribbean, the purple sky at the top of Ampersand Mountain in the Adirondacks, giggling until someone wets her pants, and greeting a smiling face across the room with a knowing wink... You need to know that life is bliss and misery mixed. Perhaps we would never recognize one without the other. You will get your heart broken and feel grief and loss many times in your life. But you will also become confident and clear-minded. You'll feel profound joy and love and laughter; you will feel awe and respect and humility. That is how you’ll know you are alive and why you will want to give yourself and others a chance to feel the same."

Congratulations, he is such a beautiful boy...with such beautiful parents.
We love you!

I hope you take lots of naps and drink lots of water all day long and also, I find that chocolate chip cookies help with milk production:)

Congratulations, Kately. Your little bundle is darling, so sweet.

Enjoy these precious few months! They go much faster than seemingly possible. Drink in that milk-breath and enjoy those jerky limbs and grunts...there is nothing sweeter than a newborn. :)
