the furniture lost, but it didn't go down without a fight
The Dude suffered his first noggin injury.
And pictures don't do it justice.
And my favorite Interventional Cardiologist/Vascular Surgeon offered (in her adorable Polish accent), "That's going to look like shit tomorrow," but no other expert advice since Merritt didn't pull a bedside table down on his heart.
And I'm going to have to get rid of all furniture that can't be bolted to the floor.
And pad the walls and ceilings and world.
And figure out how to spell Quasimodo without the humpback, just the crazy eye.
And maybe put ice packs in the freezer instead of packages of coconut. Not great insulators, those shredded coconuts.
And then, I guess, get used to it. Because this certainly isn't his last dome damage. Not if he's my child.(And snuggle an extra lot.)

Nice bruise! He looks tough:)
Yeeeee-ouch! Such a bummer, and the first time is always the hardest.
I remember my oldest slipping around this age when looking out a window and bonking his head on the window-sill -- and feeling like it was my fault that I didn't have time to catch him. And it is SO HARD to see that precious, perfect, beautiful body w/ and injury. Just heart-breaking.
Awwwww, Merritt. Little guy!
awww, poor baby! It does suck but you're right, won't be the last time. I was frankly surprised our first trip to the ER (for a minor self inflicted flesh wound requiring staples) wasn't till Will was almost 2.5!
Ugh, you two are so cute - bruises and all! Are you trying to make me spontaneously impregnate? Not cool.
