I'm thinking lunch options aloud. Leftover barley soup? Rice and pork loin? Turkey sandwich? Bread with olive oil? So I create a sound effect that I think best expresses "mind-blowing" as it relates to my options.
Cue suicide joke by Erin.
The sound effect did sort of sound like a .22 being fired ... "just a couple of acres away."
She tells me I can't measure distance in acres.
I say "I can." And I create an illustration.
I mention that I could measure in fathoms, but they'd have to be below. And we both agree that the sound I made did not come from a nautical depth. It was off - diagonally - in the woods somewhere.
She sings "Anchors Aweigh."
I join with my own version, "Acres Away." Except it somehow becomes a 1776 "Sit Down, John" mash-up.
Just another normal conversation for us.
