Remember that one time when I woke up at 3 am ...

And instead of falling back to sleep I spent the early morning hours thinking about how Dexter is about to have to kill errrrybody he knows or there won't be a next season? And then I made up new lyrics to My Favorite Things as a special way to tell Erin & Merritt that they are my ... favorite things (precipitation on perennial flowers and five o'clock shadow on neonate felines)? Remember when, two hours later, as I was doing that relaxation thing where I start with my toes and mentally relax all my parts and pieces all the way up to my head top, Merritt woke up right around my clavicles? It's hard to relax clavicles, y'all. Remember how I changed his diaper without taking one of his legs out of his footies? And how when I got him settled down and and finally made my way to the land of nod, maybe three seconds later (okay, 45 minutes) Erin woke with a start, gasping something about needing to! study! math!, and so we spent the next half hour trying to remember how to determine the function of g(f(3)) and "undo" fractional exponents before we realized we were studying! math! before dawn! and for no reason!? Remember how I got up and showered and ate a couple of chocolate chip cookies for breakfast? And then things were fairly uneventful for the middle chunk of the day save beaning a kid in the head with a ball on accident three-ish times at work and struggling for hours to remember a punchline to a joke that I made up? (Still can't.) But then I came home to pack for a six day trip to Idaho and discovered that two chicks and a baby do some major luggage make. Remember how it looked like we were moving to Australia? Indefinitely? And in the middle of loading cars and crossing items off the to-do list we checked on Merritt and discovered he was more than just a little febrile? And so we opted to give him Tylenol and it didn't go over so well?  Remember when blueberries shot out of his nose and he exorcised his demons INTO MY MOUTH and all over my sweatshirt and as I held him close, there was standing vomit between us? And then it started snowing?

That was today.
